How to Keep your feet free from infection
Certain Fungai and Bacteria infections like cracked foot, hammertoes, blisters, bunions, corns and calluses, heel spurs, claw and mallet toes, ingrown toenails, toenail fungus, and athlete’s foot can break out and become a very serious issue when the feet is not well taken care of or there is an ignored health issue that needs urgent attention.
Keep your toilet and Bathroom floor disinfected:
Certain germs live in the toilet even when it is almost totally clean. Most germs hand out on toilet floors. One of the parts of the house that needs to be disinfected as often as possible is the toilet because of the large number of bacteria and other harmful micro-organisms that live there. It is therefore very important to permanently keep strong disinfectant in the toilet which can help serve as a reminder to use it regularly. The dirt on the toilet floor can cause irritating feet infections like some of those mentioned above. This can cause wounds, pain and very terrible odour sometimes.
Keep you Pedicure kits sterilized:
Some people have different infections on their feet which can be transferred to others is they get to share items like blade and other pedicure kits. When visiting salons especially for ladies who tend to nurture their feet more frequently that men, it is important to patronize salons with sterilizing facilities so they don’t carry deadly germs and harmful organisms along with them when leaving the salon. Sterilizing kits gets rid of and hidden germs on the pedicure kits and keeps the customers feet safe.
Keep your bath tub disinfected:
Some organisms find their way into the bath tubs through the water outlet. This will always happen except the bath tub is well disinfected frequently. Disinfectants will kill and germ or harmful micro organisms that hide even inside the water outlet and on the surface of the tub. This will keep the feet safe from numerous deadly infections.
Wash your feet immediately after walking through dirty water:
When walking through dirty water germs are bound to hang onto the legs especially when you don’t have a closed shoe on and the water level is higher that your shoe. It is important to wash off that feet with clean water and possibly salt water to get rid of any harmful micro organism that may have hung unto the feet in the dirty water.
Always wear clean stockings:
Some stockings ooze terribly when they are let out of the shoe. This is because there are organisms hanging onto those stockings because it was left dirty for a long time. Habitually hanging unto a dirty stocking can cause terrible feet infections. it is important to always wear clean stockings and wash immediately after use.
Keep your shoes clean:
Always ensure that your shoes are kept clean. Wearing some shoes without stocking when there is extreme heat and exposure to pressure triggers some germs which cause terribly smelling shoes. Keeping these shoes in the sun can help neutralize the smell and get rid of the germs in it. Lacing the feet with some nice smelling powder can also help to avoid those germs and the terrible smell they cause in the shoes.
Wash your feet thoroughly when bathing:
While having your bath it is important to go the extra mile and give those feet a good wash. This will help to get rid of any germs that may have been hanging around there during the days work.
Avoid walking Bare foot:
It is important to avoid walking bare foot. Many germs and harmful micro-organisms are often picked up on the floor while walking without shoes especially when you have to step outside the clean house environment. A foot wear can help to protect those feet.
Treat any Wounds Seriously:
Some wounds that were treated with levity became very deadly infections on the foot. It is important to give first aid treatment to any wound, and follow up treatment accordingly. Plaster should also be used to avoid exposure of wound as it can attract infections which can possibly cause tetanus and other feet infections.
Don’t wear Tight shoes:
Wearing tight shoes is mostly responsible for athletes’ foot and some other irritating infection on the leg. Tight shoes cause a burning sensation on the feet that can even make walking a little more difficult. It is important to avoid tight shoes and get your shoe size from the market. This can help save you from some embarrassing smell, athletes’ foot and other infections that affect the foot.
Disinfecting the feet in warm water:
It is important, to take time to properly disinfect the feet with disinfectant and warm water. Sometimes, salt and warm water can do the job. All you have to do is to keep the feet soaked in warm water with disinfectant or salt especially at the end of the day after a shower before going to bed. This will help to keep the feet healthy and free from germs.
