For years, intel and AMD have been competiting for CPU supremacy. But, in the wake of this long-term competition, the battle of AMD vs Intel has left many users wondering if there is a superior.
Of a truth, the best processors are the brain of your PC, behind your computer's performance, from complex and intense tasks (e.g. rendering video or playing games), to more simple, everyday tasks (e.g. turning on or launching a web browser). Because of the importance of the CPU, it’s no doubt essential to make sure that the manufacturer you pledge your loyalty to can definitely cater to your needs. Noone wants to pay for features that won't be of good use.
Consequently, there is no “best” when it comes to answering the question, AMD or Intel? Both processors feature strengths and weaknesses. It is however possible to find a processor that better suits your individual needs.
Intel processors offer a notable number of strengths, which includes power conservation, graphics performance, processing power, and processing speed. Intel processors, however, are more expensive than their AMD counterparts. AMD processors, on the other hand, tend to be more affordable than the Intel chips.
Also, AMD processors are capable of doing things that Intel chips can not do. Majority of Intel processors are locked in at a fixed clocking speed, however, AMD processors can be "overclocked" meaning that they can be made to run at a faster speed than is available right out of the box.
WHICH PROCESSOR SUITS YOUR NEED?
Before choosing the most appropriate processor, it is important to determine what you're really looking for in a processor. Do you want speed? Graphics performance? Affordability? Flexibility? Do you play games, primarily, or are you seeking a simple processor to allow for multi-tasking while browsing the Internet? Answering these questions will guide you to choose the best processor for you.
If you need a cheaper processor, AMD processors may be the best choice. The less cost is due to the Advanced Micro Device company’s reluctance to move beyond simply iterating on its antiquated Bulldozer architecture. For students, budget gamers, and individuals with straight-forward computing needs, AMD processors are the bet because they are powerful and fast enough for most while presenting a cheaper price. As said earlier, they can be "overclocked" for increased speed, provide robust and vibrant graphics, and are available in multi-core setups for multithreaded performance.
However, If you are seeking performance at the upper range of the market, intel will definitely suit you. You may pay more for it, and you may give up flexibility for this performance, but the processor itself will provide you with lightning speed, incredible capability, and beautiful graphics. Intel processors are unbeatable in terms of outright power.
To end with, the biggest problem with AMD’s processors is the lack of compatibility with other components. To be specific, motherboard (mobo) and cooler options are limited as a result of the differing sockets between AMD and Intel chips.
