Data renewal ensures automatic resubscription for a current data plan on your device without having to go through the application process again via the USSD code. The disadvantage of auto-renewal of data is that your airtime gets deducted without intention of renewing.
Knowledge is power. In this light, I want to share with you the USSD codes you can use to cancel data auto-renewal on MTN, 9MOBILE, GLO and AIRTEL.
For the network providers in Nigeria, this is how you can prevent auto renewal:
1. AIRTEL
Here’s how to cancel data auto-renewal on Airtel data plans
Send SMS “ STOP to 141 ” to cancel data auto renewal.
2. 9MOBILE
Here’s how to cancel data auto-renewal on 9Mobile data plans
Dial *229*0# to cancel the auto-renewal of the 9Mobile MoreBlaze data plan.
3. GLO
Here’s how to cancel data auto-renewal on Glo data plans
.
SMS “ CANCEL to 127 ” while plan is still active to stop Glo data plan
4. MTN
Here’s how to cancel data auto-renewal on MTN data plans.
SMS “ NO+code to 131 ” to stop
MTN Data Plan renewal. E.g. NO104 to 131
In MTN network, each data plan has its code which is required for the command. Below is the list of MTN data plans and their respective codes:
